Willie Nelson, 91, continues to cancel tour dates citing unknown illness

Willie Nelson has canceled another tour appearance, and this time thereโ€™s no return date.

On Wednesday, hours before he was supposed to appear on stage in Virginia Beach, a note was shared to Nelsonโ€™s social media pages informing fans the 91-year-old singer would not be performing as scheduled.

The announcement came just a few days after Nelson canceled his tour opener in Georgia because he was โ€œnot feeling well.โ€

The first round of bad news came June 21, when Nelson canceled his first scheduled performance of his Outlaw Music Festival Tour.

โ€œWe regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctorโ€™s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,โ€ a statement on social media said. โ€œHe is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.โ€

However, less than a week later Nelson announced yet another cancellation.

โ€œWillie Nelson will not be performing at tonightโ€™s show in Virginia Beach. We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly.โ€

Although Nelson was unable to perform, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse were still scheduled to perform. Nelsonโ€™s son, Lukas Nelson, and his band were also expected to play their own set, along with some of Nelsonโ€™s classics.

As of June 27, Nelsonโ€™s website still shows his next scheduled tour date in Syracuse, NY on June 28, but with an uncertain return date, itโ€™s unclear if Nelson will be able to perform.

Whatever is keeping Willie Nelson from performing, we hope he feels better very soon.
