Queen Camilla Receives Diagnosis — Royal Fans Send Prayers for Healing

Buckingham Palace has announced that Queen Camilla, at the age of 77, is dealing with a chest infection.

According to reports from the BBC, this diagnosis has led to the cancellation of her activities for Thursday, including her planned participation at the Field of Remembrance ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

In her absence, the Duchess of Gloucester will represent her during the ceremony.

Camilla will also not be attending a Thursday evening reception at Buckingham Palace meant for honoring Olympic and Paralympic athletes. King Charles will now host the event by himself.

The doctors have advised Camilla to rest at home; however, she still hopes to participate in several special events later in the week. These include the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday and Sunday’s Cenotaph service held in Whitehall.

The Palace has indicated that Queen Camilla’s health condition seems to be of a minor nature. It’s thought to be connected to her recent extensive travels with King Charles, which included trips to Australia, Samoa, and India.

The UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, has extended his best wishes, hoping for her “speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile, a supporter expressed their good wishes by simply saying, “I pray she has a speedy recovery.”

On the other hand, some people have raised concerns about the King and Queen’s ability to lead effectively, questioning if their health issues might inhibit them from fulfilling their royal duties. “Charles and her need to step down. Their health issues prevent them from doing their duties. Queen Elizabeth knew what she was doing when she held out as long as she did! It was her plan all along for Charles and this woman to be in power as little time as possible. I love it [sic]!”, a critic shared.

Another voice from the public chimed in, stating, “She’s elderly. I’d say the trip wore her out, probably Charles too.”

Camilla’s recent diagnosis follows a previous COVID-19 illness from February which had also prevented her from attending several engagements.

Since then, she has remained actively engaged with various responsibilities, including the completion of a documentary on domestic violence awareness, which is scheduled to air next week.

In the meantime, King Charles, who had to pause his cancer treatment during their recent international tour, is anticipated to resume with his treatment plan now that they are back in the UK.
