‘God alone’ saved me, says Donald Trump

Donald Trump has said “God alone” saved his life from an assassination attempt, as he called Americans to unite against political violence.

Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump has raised concerns about Joe Biden’s ability to continue as President after Biden dropped out of the race. Speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump made a passionate case for his own presidency.

Sporting a bandage on his right ear from an assassination attempt during a rally, Trump entered the arena to the chants of ‘USA, USA’ as the anthem played “God Bless America”. In his speech, he expressed his desire to be the President for all of America, not just a select few.

“I am running to be president for all America, not half of America because there is no victory in winning for half of America. So, tonight with faith and devotion I proudly accept your nomination for president of the United States,” Trump stated.

Trump also shared his harrowing experience of surviving the assassination attempt, attributing his survival to divine intervention. He expressed his gratitude to the American people for their support and vowed to continue his mission.

The Presidential nominee also called for a halt to the rhetoric against him from the Democratic side, urging unity and the end of political persecution. Trump emphasized that he is the one saving democracy for the American people.

While the Democrats put pressure on President Biden to withdraw from the race, the Republicans seem to have gained momentum with Trump positioning himself as a President for the entire nation.
