Famous Star Was Contacted To Be ‘The Golden Bachelorette’

Several months back, ABC was exploring various options for the star of their new series, ‘The Golden Bachelorette’. Among those considered was the beloved soap opera actress, Susan Lucci, best known for her portrayal of Erica Kane on ‘All My Children’.

Susan Lucci faced a personal loss when her husband, Helmut Huber, passed away in 2022 at the age of 84. Huber, an accomplished Austrian-born chef and businessman, shared a life of 52 years with Lucci. The couple married on September 13, 1969, and remained together until his demise on March 28, 2022. Their family includes two children and several grandchildren.

Despite her strong ties to her late husband, the 77-year-old celebrity revealed to People Magazine that she was approached by ABC to be the first Golden Bachelorette. However, she graciously declined the offer. During her chat with People, Lucci expressed her newfound enjoyment of ‘The Bachelor’ franchise, admitting that ‘The Golden Bachelor’ has become “a new addiction” for her.
