A Woman Who Became A “Vampire” By Covering Entire Body In Tattoos Issues Warning

A striking warning comes from a woman famous for holding the Guinness World Record for the most bodily alterations.

Nicknamed the “real-life vampire” due to her distinctive look, Maria José Cristerna has been enthusiastically expanding her tattoo collection nearly all her life, beginning her journey of self-expression with her first tattoo at 14.

The Mexican woman holds her title as having the most physical alterations recorded in the 2022 Guinness World Records, with a total of 50 changes.

Cristerna’s modifications are not for the faint-hearted, including implants in her arms and forehead, numerous piercings, a split tongue, and tattoos covering nearly her entire body—even her eyes.

In her chat with Guinness World Records, Cristerna explained, “Initially, my dad wasn’t supportive of the idea. Yet, he took me to get my first tattoo.”

She passionately described her connection to art: “Art flows in my veins. Loving art since childhood, I now express it through my body.”

Her transformations are not just artistic; they are testimonies of tenacity and freedom from a decade-long oppressive and abusive marriage. Cristerna uses her experience as a release and as an advocate for women who’ve faced similar abuses—emphasizing, “To escape violence and abuse, love yourself. We’re here to be happy.”

These modifications stand for courage and liberation from her past’s chains.

Each alteration bears personal significance, but Cristerna mentions that the implants in her arms and eye pigmentation have been the most challenging to endure.

Despite the pain, Cristerna celebrates her Guinness World Record title with unwavering commitment to self-expression.

She confidently states, “You can meet your ambitions. There are no boundaries. Impossible is nothing if you will it.”

Aiming to cover 100% of her body in tattoos, she adds, “I am indifferent to others’ opinions about me. Knowing myself is what matters.”

Yet, she counsels the young considering similar bold modifications: “Think long and hard; it’s permanent.”

Encouraging thoughtful consideration, she explains, “I adore my look, but youngsters should understand that tattoos and piercings are trendy. One might reach a point of regret.”

“Reflect deeply to cherish and defend it throughout life.”

Despite advising only the confident to pursue tattoos, the “Vampire Woman” actively continues her ink journey. Recently, she shared a new tattoo on Instagram, revealing an artist tattooing her back—capturing the moment with “One more stripe for my brother’s tiger Rene Camarena Laus Satanus.”
