The truth is, sometimes men don’t always listen! No matter what you say, they often stick to what they believe is the right thing. Unfortunately, this was the case for a handyman who went to fix a woman’s dishwasher. When performing repairs in someone else’s home, you never really know what you’ll come across. This particular handyman received specific instructions on what to avoid that day. Here’s the story:

Laura’s dishwasher stopped working, so she called a repairman.

Since Laura had to go to work the next day, she left clear instructions for the repairman. She told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you a check. Oh, by the way, don’t worry about my bulldog, Bob. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot! I repeat, do not talk to my parrot!”

When the repairman arrived at Laura’s apartment the following day, he discovered the biggest, meanest-looking bulldog he had ever seen. But, just as Laura had assured him, the dog merely lay there on the carpet, watching the repairman as he went about his work.

However, the parrot was a different story. The bird drove the repairman nuts with its incessant yelling, cursing, and name-calling. Finally, the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!”

To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Bob!”
