Man Uses 11 Shipping Containers To Build His 2,500 Square Foot Dream House, And The Inside Looks Amazing

Imagine turning a stack of shipping containers into the home of your dreams! Well, Designer Will Breaux did just that, transforming his vision into reality right on McGowen Street in Houston. This isn’t just any quirky architectural project; we’re talking about a spectacular 2,500 square foot, three-story home crafted from 11 shipping containers, complete with a rooftop deck.

Breaux’s journey to creating his dream abode began back in the early 2000s. He had a crystal-clear picture of what he wanted but hit roadblocks finding someone to bring his dream to life. Frustration turned into determination, and after firing a design team that didn’t quite get the memo, Breaux decided to design his home himself around 2011. Talk about a DIY project, right?

Shipping containers piqued his interest for good reasons. These industrial beasts are strong, fireproof, durable, and, oh yes, hurricane resistant. No big bad wolf is going to huff and puff at this house! Even with zero professional building experience, Breaux educated himself on container construction, sketching out a 3D model of his dream home. Fast forward numerous hours and likely a few headaches later, Breaux stands as the proud owner of an extraordinary, fully furnished container home.
