“You woke yourself up, because even you could not stand the sound of your own snoring,” Ripa told husband Mark Consuelos.
Kelly Ripa is revealing Mark Consuelos’ biggest flaw.
The Emmy-winning talk show host, 53, spilled on her husband’s sleeping habits on the June 26 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark. She joked that despite all his good qualities, there is one thing Consuelos, 53, does that drives even himself crazy.
“You woke yourself up, because even you could not stand the sound of your own snoring,” she recalled. “His snoring got so insurmountable for him, that he woke up and shushed himself. I’m not kidding. He shushed himself.”
She continued: “I was like, ‘Are you shushing me? Because you’re shushing you.’”
Even when she tries to escape the sound, Ripa explained that Consuelos’ snoring is so loud there is no way to silence it.
“No matter where you are in the house, if Mark is sleeping, you can hear him snoring,” she said.
Ripa made sure to let Consuelos — who she has been married to for 28 years — know this is one of his only faults: “You are 99.9 percent perfection, you really are, you’re a joy. He doesn’t even have morning breath, it’s weird.”
Still, she said he “make[s] up for it” with the sounds of his snoring. She joked that when he goes to sleep, a new side of him “comes alive.”
“The dark-sided part, the you that wants to be seen comes out,” she teased. “It’s like a werewolf meets Frankenstein.”
Last week, the All My Children alum revealed her own embarrassing story on the show, saying she has “performance anxiety” when using public restrooms.
“When [I] go into the restroom, and I will hear, ‘That’s Kelly Ripa!’ Now, I can’t go,” she said. “Even though I have to go desperately.”
“Do you continue to listen to see what they’re saying?” he asked.
Ripa replied: “At that point I’m just so panic-stricken because I have to pee and it’s not coming out, and I’m in there longer, and now they’re in there also longer, and we’re all in there longer.”
She added: “I feel like saying, ‘Guys, can you run the water or something?’”
