How To Make Your Glass Stovetop Clean Again

Electric stoves are super easy to use and tend to be a whole lot cheaper than gas stoves. This is probably why they’re so incredibly popular. However, if you have an electric stove, you don’t need me to tell you how difficult they are to keep clean. The second a tiny bit of water boils over, you’re left with a burnt-on stain that sticks around forever. Thankfully, this simple method will help your glass cooktop look brand new again!

According to Jillee of One Good Thing By Jillee, baking soda, liquid dish soap, distilled vinegar, and a towel are the only things you need to remedy a stained glass stovetop. Start out by putting some vinegar in a spray bottle and generously spraying the cooktop.

Next, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda on top.

Using the sink or a bucket, soak the towel in hot water with added dish soap. You want the water to be extremely hot, so it’s best to wear protective gloves.

Gently wring the towel out (but not completely) and lay it flat across the entire stovetop. Leave the towel there for 15 to 20 minutes.

When the time’s up, remove the towel and use a soft brush to scrub at any stubborn stains. If your stove is in especially rough shape, you may have to repeat this process one more time.

Lastly, spray a small amount of vinegar on the stovetop and use a microfiber cloth to wipe it clean. Now your stove will be shiny and looking brand new!
