‘When Calls the Heart’ Actor Mamie Laverock on Life Support After Sustaining Injuries in Five-Story Fall from Balcony
‘When Calls the Heart’ stars Erin Krakow and Johannah Newmarch have reached out to their fans, asking for donations to help support Mamie Laverock’s recovery through a GoFundMe campaign.
Mamie Laverock, a young actress from When Calls the Heart, is currently in critical condition after falling five stories from a balcony.
On May 11, her mother, Nicole Compton, rushed her to a Winnipeg hospital due to an emergency. From there, she was transferred to a hospital in Vancouver, where she is expected to stay for an extended period as her condition is being monitored.
Her parents, Rob and Nicole, have informed supporters that despite the severe nature of her injuries, she is alive and showing signs of improvement. However, the road to recovery remains uncertain.
An update on the family’s GoFundMe page, which has raised over 11,000 CAD as of late May, explained that Mamie had a tragic accident where she fell from a balcony walkway, leading to multiple life-threatening injuries and putting her on life support.
“She has undergone several extensive surgeries and is currently on life support,” her parents shared. “We are devastated and in shock during this incredibly difficult time.”
As news of her accident spread, her When Calls the Heart costars have rallied for support. Erin Krakow took to Instagram, encouraging her followers to contribute to the GoFundMe. “I just donated. If you have the means to do so, I hope you will too,” Krakow shared.
Johannah Newmarch, who plays Mamie’s on-screen mother, also expressed her heartfelt support on X (formerly Twitter). She urged her followers to help, noting the significant challenges the family faces during this tough period.
“I love this family, my heart is broken,” Newmarch wrote. “It’s a devastating time for everyone who cares for Mamie. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”
