In 1983, a 24-year-old Patricia Clarke found out she was pregnant and had a strong feeling that her baby would be quite large.
She was no stranger to big babies in her family, as she had given birth to one before. However, the size of her unborn child this time was beyond anything she expected.
When Kevin Robert Clark was born, he weighed over 16 pounds—a truly enormous baby. He became the largest infant ever born at Community Memorial Hospital and possibly in all of New Jersey at the time.
His parents were overjoyed to find out that Kevin was perfectly healthy, though he didn’t fit into a standard-sized cot and his baby clothes were too small for him.
Kevin’s impressive size quickly caught the nation’s attention. He became famous and was even featured on popular shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “Good Morning America.”
Begin by setting a good example.
But Kevin’s time in the spotlight was far from over. At 12 years old, he already stood at 5 feet 7 inches tall, according to the New York Post.
By the time he entered junior high, his height had shot up to 6 feet 5 inches, and he continued growing beyond that.
“There isn’t a day that goes by when someone doesn’t ask me how tall I am,” Kevin told the Post.
“I like to joke that I’m 5-foot-21. When people ask if I play basketball, I ask them if they play miniature golf.”
Now at 40, Kevin stands an astounding 6 feet 9 inches tall. He shares his life with his 6-foot-tall wife and their Great Dane, and he is a former soldier.
Being taller than most people has become something he is very accustomed to, and he manages it with an easygoing stride.

Growing up being the center of attention from birth and having people constantly staring and asking questions must have been tough.
But it seems Kevin has adapted beautifully to his life. We wish him the very best as he continues his journey!
