Dr. Dre Opens Up About Suffering Three Strokes During Hospitalization for Brain Aneurysm

Grammy award-winning hip-hop producer Dr. Dre recently shared a shocking experience he had earlier this year. During his hospitalization for a brain aneurysm, he revealed that he suffered not just one, but three strokes.

“It’s just something that you can’t control that just happens, and during those two weeks I had three strokes,” Dr. Dre said. The situation took him by surprise, as he woke up that morning feeling normal, except for a strange feeling behind his ear that quickly escalated into intense pain.

Despite leading a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, Dr. Dre had no control over this health scare. He stated, “I had no idea that I had high blood pressure or anything like that because I’m on my health s—. I’m lifting weights, I’m running, I’m doing everything I can to keep myself healthy. High blood pressure in Black men, that’s just what it is. They call it the silent killer. You just have no idea, so you know, you have to keep your s— checked.”

This unexpected turn of events has made Dr. Dre realize that sometimes things happen without warning. “It’s crazy… knowing that I had no control over that,” he said. “It’s just something that could happen out of the blue. You wake up and you go, ‘S—. Okay, I’m here.’”

Eminem: The Greatest MC

Dr. Dre has worked with numerous talented artists in the music industry, but according to him, one stands above the rest. Eminem, the renowned rapper, has captivated Dr. Dre with his extraordinary imagination and skill on the microphone.

“His imagination is off the charts, and I don’t think anyone would disagree with that,” Dr. Dre praised. “I think he’s the best MC ever. Point blank, period.” He acknowledges that some might argue against this because Eminem is a white artist, but Dr. Dre firmly believes that when it comes to rapping, no one can touch Eminem’s prowess.

Dr. Dre’s journey of recovery from his health scare serves as a reminder that life can bring unexpected challenges. And his admiration for Eminem highlights the everlasting impact of great musical talent.
