Jeff Bridges has been incredibly open about his health journey since being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The beloved actor, known for his roles in movies like The Big Lebowski and True Grit, has faced this difficult disease with courage, resilience, and an unwavering positive spirit.

In October 2020, Bridges took to social media to share the news of his diagnosis, saying, “As the Dude would say… New S—T has come to light. I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a terrible disease, I am fortunate to have a superb team of specialists and a favorable prognosis.” He expressed gratitude for the love and support from his family and friends and asked for prayers and well wishes.

After going into remission, Bridges faced another challenge when he tested positive for COVID-19. Despite the setback, he remained optimistic, stating, “A lot has changed since my last installment. My cancer has gone into remission – the 9′′ x 12′′ mass has shrunk down to the size of a marble. Covid kicked my ass pretty badly, but I’m double vaccinated and feeling much better today. I’ve heard that immunization can benefit those with [chronic COVID]. Perhaps this is the reason for my rapid improvement.”

During his road to recovery, Bridges focused on various therapies, including working with a therapist to improve his physical strength and breathing. He humorously described walking around with an oxygen aid, saying it created a sound similar to Darth Vader.

His determination was fueled by his desire to be able to walk his daughter, Hayley Bridges, down the aisle on her wedding day. After successfully accomplishing that goal, Bridges reflected on the experience and said, “That was fantastic.”
