A Life of Captivity
Being chained up in the back of a pickup truck is no place for an animal, especially not a full-grown mountain lion. Unfortunately, this was the heartbreaking reality for Mufasa, a mountain lion who spent 20 long years in captivity. He was part of a traveling circus in Peru, where his life was turned into a living hell for the sake of entertainment and profit.

Thankfully, Mufasa’s story took a turn for the better when a group of animal lovers stepped in to rescue him. Animal Defenders International, an organization dedicated to protecting animals, worked tirelessly to secure Mufasa’s release. After several months of hard work, Mufasa was finally freed from his chains in 2015.
