Halitosis (or simply known as bad breath) is a situation whereby a person’s breath stinks or smells bad. While experiencing bad breath during the day is seen as a health issue, early morning bad breath tends to be normal in most cases. However, people still find it disturbing especially when they are with their partners.

In this article, we will share with you a look at some ways of preventing early morning mouth odour, according to a publication on Healthline.

1. Drink lots of water before you go to bed at night.

That’s because taking enough water will lower the extent of dryness you would experience in the night while sleeping. Dry mouth at night while sleeping is the primary cause of early morning bad breath but taking enough water before going to bed can lower the chances of waking up with a terrible breath.

2. Avoid eating strong smelling foods at night.

This is another tip for you. Some of the strong smelling foods are things like onions, coffee, garlic etc. If you consume any of these before going to bed, it can cause a terribly bad breath in the morning.

3. Stay away from tobacco products

These products are known to be a major cause of bad breath generally which includes early morning bad breath. If you notice that each time you use tobacco products, you wake up with a bad breath, simply stopping taking any of them and watch out for improvements.
