Missy and Jase Robertson’s daughter, Mia, was born with a significant cleft palate. Now 20 years old, she has already undergone fifteen surgeries. Although the family was hoping that the last surgery would be her final one, in a recent Instagram post, Mia’s mom revealed that there has been a change of plans.
“Just another night in a very familiar hotel room,” Missy writes on social media. “I don’t say ‘last’ and I don’t say ‘minor’ anymore, but I still ask for prayers.”
The accompanying photo shows Mia and her mom, sprawled out on separate hotel beds, with slight grins on their faces filled with hope and encouragement for what the next day might bring. Mia’s sixteenth surgery is scheduled for Monday, July 29, but the Robertson family has not shared specific details about the procedure. Nevertheless, Missy is reaching out to fans for prayers as their daughter goes through this challenging experience.

Mia’s journey has been filled with challenges, but she continues to find joy along the way. Recently, as a young adult, she spent three months in Costa Rica and documented her travels on her own Instagram page.
