Taking to Instagram before his final performance, Elton John reflected on the journey this tour had been. He stated, “What a journey this tour has been, and now we find ourselves at the end of it. Tonight is the final night.” While Elton may be retiring from touring, he and his management have made it clear that fans can still anticipate special performances in the future. “It’s essential to distinguish between Elton retiring from touring and Elton not performing his very last public performance for the very last time,” explained David Furnish, John’s husband and manager. “What you’ll see is the possibility of a great one-time event or a brief residence in a single location for a limited period of time.”
