The family’s cats didn’t accept him, leaving Lucky to fend for himself in the yard. He lacked proper food and a comfortable place to sleep. When the family made the decision to move, Lucky was discarded without a second thought. The family contacted a local dog shelter, hoping to find a new home for him.

Jamie Hult, a compassionate woman, stumbled upon Lucky’s pictures on social media. She felt an immediate connection and knew she had to meet him. “I want that dog. I don’t even want to foster it, I wanna take that dog,” Jamie expressed to the shelter.
Saving Lucky
Upon meeting Lucky, Jamie was deeply saddened by his poor condition. Years of mistreatment and neglect had taken a toll on him. Malnutrition, fleas, worms, and the absence of a microchip were just a few of the challenges Lucky faced.

“He almost didn’t make it. He was in the oxygen tank for a week. I ended up spending like $8000 dollars for treatment to get an MRI just to see what was going on because he was so infested. He was like skin and bones,” Jamie shared.
Close to Death, a Triumph of Love
Jamie was willing to go to any lengths to restore Lucky’s health. She spared no expense to ensure his well-being, even when the road seemed uncertain. Lucky’s survival was a testament to the love and care he received.
“He made it. He’s healthy. He’s in the clear. I don’t care – for this particular dog just do whatever you need to, and I will pay whatever it is. Don’t hold back,” Jamie reassured her vet.
With the help of veterinarians and Jamie’s boundless love, Lucky’s life turned around completely. Today, he is a picture of health and happiness.
Celebrating Unconditional Beauty
Despite facing judgment and ridicule for his appearance, Lucky taught Jamie an invaluable lesson about acceptance and beauty. She refused to let others define his worth based on his face. Jamie began making ties for Lucky, hoping to draw attention away from his unique features and showcase his inner charm.
To symbolize his journey and celebrate his unique appearance, Lucky was given a new name – Beaux Tox. It was a playful nod to the resemblance he had to needing Botox, a name that embraced beauty in all its forms.
