Cinnamon, a 7-year-old pit bull, had experienced a heartbreaking past. It was revealed that she had been used as a breeding dog by her former owners, who heartlessly abandoned her at the shelter, leaving her babies behind. Sarah shared her anguish on Facebook, writing, “Someone dumped this poor mama at the shelter, minus her babies. Every time I stopped to talk to her and say I was sorry, her eyes would fill with tears. Heartbreaking!” This emotional video quickly went viral, touching the hearts of numerous people who wanted to give Cinnamon the happy ending she deserved.
One of those touched was Megan Shelton, a pit bull advocate who believes the breed is often misunderstood. When Megan saw Cinnamon’s tearful video, she and her family were deeply moved. Megan shared, “I have a special place in my heart for pit bulls. I think they’re a very misunderstood dog and a misunderstood breed. And when I saw her in that video, literally crying in a cage, I cried. My kids cried. I showed my husband, and he said we could go look at her tomorrow.”
