A Happy Ending for a Mother Dog and Her Puppies
It’s truly heartbreaking to hear about dogs being abandoned in cruel ways, left tied up and helpless. In a recent case, a mother dog named Angel was found tied to a tree, while her poor puppies were left in a box beside her. But thankfully, their story now has a happy ending.
According to the government of Mission Viejo, California, Angel, a 1.5-year-old Siberian husky-German shepherd mix, was discovered tied to a tree in a local park one night. Her seven puppies were left with her in the box, without any food or water. Angel was unable to protect her precious little ones from harm.
Fortunately, the dogs were found and taken to the local shelter. They received much-needed baths and vaccines, and their medical needs were taken care of thanks to the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG).
One by one, all the puppies found their forever homes, except for Angel. She was still waiting for the right family at the shelter. Animal services praised her, describing her as a “great dog” who is friendly and affectionate. She would eagerly roll over for belly rubs and seek attention by snuggling up in your lap.
Angel’s story caught the attention of NBC Los Angeles, and that’s where Dee Hinshaw-Gratin and her husband first saw her. Instantly falling in love with her, they knew they were meant to give this mistreated mama dog the loving home she deserved.

Although Angel’s abandonment is being investigated by Mission Viejo Animal Services, the responsible party has not been found yet. Let’s hope justice is served.
