Eliza Curby and her partner Ben had only been dating for three months when they received the unexpected news of Eliza’s pregnancy. Despite the suddenness and initial fear, the couple couldn’t be happier as they had always dreamt of starting a family together.
After eagerly preparing for the arrival of their first child, baby daughter Charlie brought immense joy into their lives. However, just a few weeks after giving birth, Eliza began to feel strange. She knew something was off with her body but couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
Being a mother was a dream come true for Eliza, but her body was experiencing some unusual symptoms. She felt dizzy and exhausted most of the time. At one point, she even questioned if she could be pregnant again. However, with Charlie being only six weeks old, Eliza convinced herself that her state was simply due to the demands of taking care of her baby, managing the house, and running errands.
Still, the thought of another pregnancy lingered in Eliza’s mind. She shared her concerns with Ben, who simply laughed it off. The idea of having more children so soon after Charlie had already turned their lives upside down seemed absurd.
But a mother’s instinct is often right, and Eliza’s instinct told her to take a pregnancy test to find out the truth. After four positive tests, her assumptions were confirmed: she was indeed pregnant again. And if the couple thought that was a surprise, they were in for an even bigger shock when the doctor revealed they were not expecting just one baby, but two! Eliza was going to have twins.
Reflecting on the moment in the doctor’s office, Eliza shared, “The technician seemed awkward and uncomfortable, before he finally said, ‘Look, it’s early days… but… I think there’s two.’ And it turns out there was! I was scared, but secretly super excited—I think everyone secretly desires identical twins.”
The second pregnancy progressed smoothly, and at 36 weeks, the baby boys were delivered without any complications. Jack Antony Richard and Wolfe George Harry were born healthy and perfect, bringing even more joy to Ben, Eliza, and Charlie.
Having three children of the same age is undoubtedly challenging, but life under the roof of this loving family is full of laughter and adventure. The couple started a blog they fondly named “twingenuity” to share the fun stories of their everyday life.
