Luke Combs is not only known for his heart-touching songs like “Forever After All” and “She Got the Best of Me,” but he is also revealing a more personal side of himself. In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Kelleigh Bannen, Combs candidly discussed his battles with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

“I did experience significant anxiety at periods in my life,” Combs shared with Bannen. “My OCD was pretty bad. I mean, crippling is the word I’d use.”

Despite his struggles, Combs found the strength to continue making and recording music, achieving chart-topping hits like “Hurricane” and “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” However, for years, he has dealt with anxiety and intrusive thoughts.

One thing that has helped Combs is learning to accept and live with uncertainty when it comes to matters beyond his control. Additionally, becoming a father and having the opportunity to stay home during the pandemic, rather than constantly touring, brought him solace.

Welcoming his son Tex into the world has given Combs a fresh perspective on life. “I look at things in ways I never would’ve before,” he shared with Bannen. “There are things that used to matter, but now, you just don’t give a damn about it anymore. Almost immediately, you’re just like, ‘I don’t care about it. I don’t give a damn.’”

In the conversation with Bannen, Combs also touches upon his journey in parenthood, his career, and his new album, “Growin Up’.” Watch the full interview .
