In a recent episode of Kelly Ripa’s podcast, Let’s Chat Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos made it clear that he has no plans to have any more children. However, he expressed excitement about the prospect of becoming a grandfather in the future.

When asked if he would ever consider getting remarried after Ripa, Consuelos, who is 51 years old, responded, “I wouldn’t remarry because I’m not going to have any more kids.” He went on to explain that he is content with his current role as a father and has no desire to start all over again with raising children.

Ripa then casually mentioned how many older men she knows who are just starting to have kids. Consuelos agreed, commenting on the physical challenges that can come with being an older father, such as the need for hip and knee replacements. While he acknowledged that there is nothing wrong with being an older father, he expressed gratitude for having become a father at a younger age.

“We were quite fortunate in doing so when we did so,” Consuelos said. “I thought it was a little early. We should have had at least a year or two to ourselves. So, no, I think I’m looking forward to being a grandfather. I’m very excited about that. That’s about all the parenting I desire.”

Consuelos and Ripa already have three children together: Michael, 25; Joaquin, 20; and Lola, 21. While they have enjoyed the journey of raising their children, they are now looking forward to the next phase of their lives as their children grow up and eventually start families of their own.

In celebration of Joaquin’s 20th birthday last month, Ripa shared some sweet throwback photos on her Instagram Story, reminiscing about how quickly time has flown by. During an episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Ripa reflected on the experience of watching her children grow up, describing it as a “flash.”

Ripa and Consuelos are proud of the way they have raised their children and are grateful for the timing. Ripa jokingly commented on how challenging it would be to have young children at their current age.
