Stories of cruelty towards animals are truly heartbreaking, but every now and then, we witness a remarkable tale of resilience and love. Today, we bring you the inspiring story of a blind dog who not only survived a brutal stabbing but also found a new home where she can thrive.

In late April, a distressing domestic dispute unfolded in Lenoir City, Tennessee. A father and son were involved, and amidst the chaos, their beloved family dog, Selah, became a target of violence. Selah, a rescue with multiple disabilities including blindness, was stabbed multiple times by the son, Darian Farley, out of jealousy and anger towards the attention given to her.

The incident took a terrifying turn, but the police quickly intervened, eventually apprehending Farley while ensuring Selah’s safety. Despite initial reports suggesting Selah hadn’t survived the attack, she miraculously clung to life and was immediately rushed to the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center for emergency treatment.

Selah’s journey to recovery began, and it was no easy feat. Thankfully, a kind-hearted foster parent named Kayla Jenkins, who had previously cared for Selah, stepped up once again to provide her with the love and care she desperately needed. Jenkins recounted the night of the incident, stating, “That night was pretty touch and go. She is still alive. She is getting better slowly. She has had, I think two blood transfusions so far.” Selah showed tremendous strength, defying the odds and steadily improving, even regaining her mobility.

Months passed, and Selah, now affectionately called Jules, was ready for a fresh start. The Young Williams Animal Center in Knox County embarked on a mission to find Jules the perfect forever home. Their dedication paid off when, on August 19, they shared the incredible news with the world: Jules had finally been adopted!

“The future is looking so bright for Jules… This sweet girl finally found her furever home today!” the Young Williams Animal Center joyously announced. “Congratulations sweet Jules! We are so happy for you.”

After enduring unimaginable pain, Selah/Jules now has the chance to craft a beautiful life filled with love and compassion. This heartwarming journey serves as a reminder of the resilience of animals and the incredible impact adoption can make. Let’s celebrate this remarkable victory and share this story to inspire others!
