After a trying period of weeks where she’s been forced to shoulder much of the responsibility regarding royal duties, Queen Camilla is taking a step away from her commitments, according to reports.

Sources say that Camilla will take a short, week-long break from royal engagements, setting aside her busy schedule to rest.

Reports suggest that the Queen will be back to work on March 11, leading the Royal Family for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. In her absence, other senior royals are expected to step in for her.

King Charles’s recent health issues have significantly impacted his ability to perform usual royal responsibilities. Diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer early last month after undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate, he is currently receiving ongoing treatment.

The situation was further complicated by the hospitalization and recovery period of Kate Middleton. This has meant that Prince William might not have been able to provide as much support as he otherwise would have.

To fill this gap, Queen Camilla has taken on additional royal duties, including acting as the lead figure for the royals at the memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece.

This upcoming break is likely to be a welcome respite for Camilla, who is reportedly planning to spend her ‘week off’ with King Charles and various family members.

As for King Charles, it has been widely reported that he is dividing his time between London and the royal estate of Sandringham in Norfolk, England. The specifics of his cancer type and its stage remain undisclosed by the royals.

King Charles has shared emotional moments during a meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, expressing how deeply moved he’s been by public support since his diagnosis. According to the royals, he remains in good spirits and focused on his recovery.

Similarly, Kate Middleton, who was hospitalized in late January for a planned abdominal procedure, has been recovering at home since her 13-day stay at the London Clinic. She isn’t expected to resume her royal duties until after Easter. Despite the lack of frequent updates, royal fans have been reassured that there’s no cause for concern regarding Kate’s health.

Kensington Palace stated, “We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant.”

Here’s to wishing King Charles and Queen Camilla a pleasant few days in one another’s company.
