Sir Mick Jagger, one of the most celebrated rock stars globally, has amassed immense wealth throughout his career. However, it appears he doesn’t plan to pass his vast fortune down to his children.

The 80-year-old Rolling Stones frontman has been an iconic figure in the music scene since the band’s formation in London in 1962.

Since then, the Rolling Stones have produced 31 studio albums, 122 singles, and 77 music videos. This impressive catalog has resulted in the group selling over 200 million records worldwide, earning them the second spot on Billboard’s list of greatest artists of all time, just behind The Beatles.

Incredibly, they’ve managed to stay together for 61 years, making them one of the longest-running bands in history!

Given their long-standing success, it’s no wonder that the band’s members, including Jagger, have amassed significant wealth.

However, in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Jagger revealed that his children won’t automatically inherit his fortune.

The father of eight disclosed to the outlet that he currently has no plans to sell the band’s post-1971 catalog, a move that has become trendy among musicians. This process involves selling the ownership of the copyrights to their songs or recordings, sometimes both, depending on the deal.

Notable artists like Katy Perry and Bob Dylan have entered such deals, netting themselves multi-million dollar payouts. Bob Dylan, for instance, sold his entire music catalog to Universal Music for $300 million, and Dolly Parton has expressed interest in doing the same.

During his Wall Street Journal interview, Jagger stated that even if the Rolling Stones do sell their music catalog, he isn’t planning to pass the proceeds to his children. “The children don’t need $500 million to live well. Come on,” he remarked.

Instead, Jagger expressed a preference for the money going to charity if a deal is made. “You maybe do some good in the world,” he suggested.

The ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ singer has eight children with five women, their ages ranging from six to 52. His eldest, 52-year-old Karis, was born in 1970 to Jagger and Marsha Hunt.

Jagger’s 51-year-old daughter, Jade, resulted from his marriage to Bianca Jagger from 1971 to 1978.

Jerry Hall, Jagger’s partner from 1977 to 1999, had four children with him: daughters Elizabeth, 39, and Georgia May, 31, and sons James, 38, and Gabriel, 25.

Jagger’s seventh child, 24-year-old Lucas, was born during his relationship with model Luciana Gimenez Morad. In 2016, Jagger’s current girlfriend, choreographer and former ballerina Melanie Hamrick, gave birth to his youngest child, six-year-old Deveraux.

That’s quite a large family and a lot of people to consider when it comes to splitting a massive fortune!
