BRANDON SMILEY, HIS OLDEST CHILD, DIED AT THE AGE OF 32.

Rickey Smiley, a stand-up comedian and radio star, is mourning the death of his eldest son. Over the weekend, the talk show host announced on Instagram that his son Brandon, 32, had died.

“I received horrible news this morning. I’m going to the airport to catch a flight to Birmingham. “All I want is that everyone prays for our family and me,” Rickey stated in a video. “This morning, my son, Brandon Smiley, died.”

Rickey hasn’t revealed the cause of death, but he stated he was ‘fine’ throughout the video.

“Please pray for my son’s mother and siblings,” he said.

“Now I understand what my grandfather went through and why he felt the way he did. My grandfather went through this with my father, and now I’m going through the same thing my grandparents did. Pray for our family.”

Brandon was following in his father’s footsteps. He was both an actor and a stand-up comedian. He leaves behind a three-year-old daughter called Storm.

Rickey Smiley is most known for his work on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, the Fox syndicated TV show Dish Nation, and the TV One sitcom The Rickey Smiley Show. His career in comedy and television spans two decades, and he received the Marconi Award for the syndicated personality of the year in 2017.

We’re praying Rickey and his family receive the support and comfort needed to navigate this immeasurable loss.
