After an exhilarating finale, Abi Carter has been crowned the winner of American Idol’s 22nd season!

Carter had some tough competition, facing Will Moseley and Jack Blocker, who gave their all and came in second and third, respectively.

In a nail-biting three-hour finale, Carter serenaded the audience with her original song “This Isn’t Over” and topped it off with a heart-wrenching rendition of Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”

This season has been a rollercoaster ride for the 21-year-old from Indio, California. She first left the judges in awe during her audition with a stunning performance of Eilish’s tune from the Barbie film. From the beginning, Carter expressed her lifelong dream of competing on American Idol.

“This is just me doing it,” she had said reflectively.

The judges were enchanted by Carter’s heartfelt performances. Lionel Richie declared, “We don’t have to vote,” recognizing the extraordinary talent she displayed.

Katy Perry shared her admiration, saying, “Thank you for being an example of singing from your heart. What were you made for? You were made for this. 100%.”

Luke Bryan was equally moved, stating, “That may be the winner of American Idol. I’ve never heard the crew clap.”

As the weeks progressed, Carter continued to captivate audiences across the country. Earlier this month, she delivered a breathtaking rendition of Adele’s
