The ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, has tied the knot with his third wife, singer Firerose, in a heartwarming ceremony in October 2023.
Engagement rumors began swirling when Firerose posted a photo sporting a dazzling diamond ring on her finger on September 13, 2022. As it turned out, Billy had proposed months earlier.
Reflecting on the proposal, Firerose shared, “Billy looked at me and said, ‘Do you wanna marry me?’ And I was just like, ‘Of course I do. I love you.’ He said, ‘I love you. I wanna make this official. I wanna be with you forever.’”
The pair first crossed paths around 12 years ago while Billy was filming ‘Hannah Montana’ and Firerose was auditioning for a part.
Recalling their first meeting, Billy said, “There were a couple of old pine trees on the lot that reminded me of Tennessee. My dog Tex and I would go out there during the day, and on one particular day, Firerose walked out the front door. There was almost a moment of recognition. I thought, ‘This girl’s a star.’”
He continued, “She mentioned she had an audition, and I said, ‘Well, I’m sure you got the job.’”
Though Firerose didn’t land the role, the two managed to stay in touch.
“I told her, ‘Don’t ever take a strange man up on this offer, but in this case, Tex will testify that you’re totally safe,’” Billy recalled. “‘I’m going to introduce you to a producer, and you can watch us rehearse. Maybe it’ll lead to a role or just another contact at Disney.’ So, off we went back to the studio, where she met the cast, producers, and writers, and we became friends,” he added.
Billy popped the question in August 2022, and Firerose moved in with him shortly after.
Before marrying Firerose, Billy was married to Tish Cyrus for 28 years. The former couple shares five children together: Miley, Noah, Brandi, Trace, and Braison. Billy also has another child, Christopher Cody, from a previous relationship with Kristen Luckey.
As a singer-songwriter herself, Firerose has collaborated with her husband on various projects. Most recently, they released a cover of ‘Silent Night’ and premiered a music video for their fourth single together, titled ‘Plans.’
“’Plans’ is such a positive song full of love and passion. Everyone on set brought their A-game. I’m so excited for fans to see what we created!” said Billy excitedly.
Upon sharing their wedding photos, the couple was met with a flood of congratulations from fans. Yet, one aspect caught many people’s attention—Billy’s hair. Fans shared their thoughts on the matter:
“Could he not have at least combed his hair for the occasion?” asked one person. “He couldn’t find a comb?!” posed another. “All that money and no hairbrush?!” joked a third.
